Well today I won't be spending any money. I will pick up my dd from a friends later. May stop by the video store, got a coupon in the mail yesterday for a free rental. But I may just wait, depending on my mood when I pick up dd.
I have made carrot cake and brownies this morning. I cooked them both at the same time to save kwh on the electric bill. I will be making baked ziti for dinner tonight, will make a double batch and put it in the freezer for one of those frantic nights I would prefer not to cook.
I made some charts up to track our savings, medical bill payoff and christmas accounts. I can't wait to add more $$ to those. I am actually looking for ways to save even more.
Some things we already do,
~ wash everything in cold water - actually I wash whites in hot.
~ staying out of the stores, reminding myself of our long term goals not instant gratification - this is hard sometimes but I know it will be so worth it.
~cut everyones hair (except mine, which is long and I get layered about every 3 to 4 months. Actually I just got my youngest dd's hair this morning. I took about 7 inches off the back.
~use the library lots
~coupons, if it's for something we actually use. I don't buy anything even if it's free if we won't use it as it just adds more clutter in our home.
~combine errands
~increased the auto deductible
~cut all extras (excpet caller id) off the phone
~cut dsl, went to dial up
~recycle - even in our home -check to see if we have something that we can make do with at this moment.
I will add more later.
